USS North Carolina Battleship

While on spring break, we had the opportunity to tour the USS North Carolina (BB-55) Battleship located in the coastal, port city of Wilmington North Carolina. The USS North Carolina is a beast of a ship and easily warrants three hours of your devoted attention to explore. If you happen to be passing through Wilmington, NC , I highly recommend a visit. Here is a small documentary collection of our tour of the most decorated United States Battleship of WWII.

The USS Battleship North Carolina was the first newly constructed American battleship to enter service during World War II. She took part in every major naval offensive in the Pacific Theater of Operations; and earned 15 battle stars during World War II. Today, it serves as a memorial to those brave veterans who dutifully served their country with great courage and honor.

By the war’s end, The USS Battleship North Carolina had lost only ten men in action and had 67 wounded. The USS Battleship North Carolina is now a museum ship and memorial located at 1 Battleship Rd, Wilmington, NC and absolutely worth every second of your time.
